Strut braces.

Here's a dull and long list of all the strut braces we stock and supply, we are happy to undertake one off work if you have a special requirement. Whilst we have tried to make this as comprehensive a list as possible we are always adding to our product range. This mean we may well offer a brace for your vehicle even if it is not listed ~ braces are available in steel, aluminium and carbon, although not all vehicles have all types available. Aluminium braces are generally polished to a high shine (even for front lower braces!)

The guide to fitting an AAT strut brace for a Leon Cupra by Russell Schluep.

Bits required before starting:
Pencil, Centre Punch, Electric Drill, Sharp 6 & 8mm Drill bit, Hoover with flexi hose, Socket sets with 13mm & 17mm, Flat 13mm ring spanner, Flat 17mm spanner, Girlfriend! {to hold stuff.}
1) OK first off, take the brace out of it protective wrapping (If it is done it up as well as mine this will take about 10 minutes! I would not use a knife as it could cause scratching.)
2) Line the bar up across the top of suspension turrets.  Get girlfriend to hold bar firmly while marking both holes on one side first with a pencil.  Remove bar.
3) Use the center punch and hammer to make pilot hole.  Using electric drill and 6mm bit, drill through bodywork.  This is hard work, as its about 6mm thick and then use Hoover to clear up metal shards.  Then drill out with larger 8mm bit for both holes. Hoover again.
4) Line up bar and place bolts through holes.  Then using girlfriends help again line up perfectly and mark holes on the other side.  Remove bar and bolts.
5) Repeat stage 3 on other side.
6) Line bar up and put in all 4 bolts and washers from the top.  Get 13mm socket set ready.  Using the full lock on the car, this will enable you to get your hand inside the turrets and enable you to do one locknut per side.  Use the 13mm socket on the top bolt and 13mm ring spanner on bottom locknut and tighten using the socket bar.  Then use opposite lock on the steering which will allow you to tighten the other 2 bolts.
7) To finish off, use 17mm socket and 17mm spanner to tighten main adjustable crossbar on either side.
8) Polish to high shine and step back to admire your handiwork.
9) Go for a burn!
